Tungsten rods are well used in today's industries, today, I will introduce what is the use of tungsten rods in the military for you. The following is the use of tungsten rods in armour piercing projectiles.

The armor piercing projectile is the kinetic energy that is transferred from the hardness of the shell material and the shape in shooting, and the penetration surface can be destroyed when it is in contact with the hard target. In addition to the anti-tank, the armor piercing projectile can also be used to deal with other solid targets or be used in the bomb for the protection of the warship.

The early penetrator warhead has simple conical flow line, it has not been well used in many ways. Later, with the increase of firing distance, the simple streamline has no guarantee of firing accuracy of warheads, in order to stabilize the bullet trajectory, using the tungsten rods as components to make cap to be used in the front of  warheads, which has more probability to breakdown armor.
