HT-molybdenum is an excellent material for heating elements, heat shields and other structural parts of high temperature furnaces operating i\with protective gases.

HT-molybdenum wire remains ductile even at the highest temperatures and is resistant to mechanical shocks and vibrations and is, therefore, especially suitable as support wires for incandescent filaments of tungsten used in bulbs for car and motorcycle head lamps, as well as support wires for filaments of special bulbs. Support wires and frames for incandescent filaments and and caps in iodine bulbs for head lamps are made of HT-molybdenum.

In addition, tape made of HT-molybdenum sealed into glass (ESS tape) is used in the production of iodine bulbs for head lamps.

When producing tungsten filaments for bulbs, HT-molybdenum wire is used as the mandrel wire if the ready made filaments are subjected to a stabilizing annealing procedure in continuous furnace.
Supports for cathodes and other structural parts of transmitter tubes and electronic tubes specially subjected to thermal stress and used in special heavy duty applications are made of HT-molybdenum. HT-molybdenum wire is especially suitable for the production of anodic grids which are stretched out after spot welding.
