Inconel 800 alloy is Ni-Fe-Cr alloy which is used to resist oxidation and carbonization. The content of nickel reaches 32%, which makes Inconel 800 have good resistance to chloride induced stress corrosion and fracture, excellent resistance to uniform corrosion.

The content of nickel in Inconel 800 alloy is higher than that of 304 stainless steel. In many media, Inconel 800 alloy is similar to 304 stainless steel. For example, in many industrial gases and chemical medium, like nitric acid and organic acid, Inconel 800 alloy has similar properties with 304 stainless steel.

Inconel 800 could not be used in sulphuric acid environment.
