Monel400 is a nickel copper alloy based on deformation processing. It has good corrosion resistance and chemical resistance to seawater, and has good resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking. The alloy is one of the few alloys that can be used in fluoride. It has excellent resistance to oxide stress such as corrosion in hydrofluoric acid and fluorine gas medium, such as seawater and brine

At moderate concentrations of alkaline and saline solution, Monel 400 also has very good corrosion resistance. In a relatively cold alkaline environment, the alloy is used in a weak acid, such as sulfur and hydrogen fluoride.

Acid medium: Monel400 is corrosion resistant in sulfuric acid with a concentration of less than 85%. Monel400 is resistant to hydrofluoric acid, which is one of the most important materials.

Water corrosion: in most water corrosion circumstances, Monel400 alloy not only has excellent corrosion resistance and pitting corrosion, stress corrosion, etc. are rarely found, that corrosion rate of less than 0.025mm/a.

High temperature corrosion: the maximum temperature of Monel400 working continuously in air is about 600 degrees, and the corrosion speed is less than 0.026mm/a. in high temperature steam. Ammonia: due to nickel content of Monel400 alloy has high corrosion resistance, so it has good resistance for anhydrous ammonia and ammoniation conditions below 585 degrees.
