EDM electrode
EDM electrode adopted copper or graphite electrode in early days. Copper or graphite electrode is cheap but can not resist ablation. Nowadays, EDM electrode basically uses copper tungsten electrode. The advantages of tungsten copper electrode are high temperature resistance, high temperature strength, arc ablation resistance, good thermal and electrical conductivity properties and fast heat dissipation. The EDM electrode has numerous species, small batch and great total quantity. W-Cu alloy materials used in EDM electrode should have high density and homogeneous microstructure, particularly the W-Cu bar, tube and special-shaped electrode.
